I am a Level 2 member of the Australian Counselling Association and hold the following university qualifications:

  • Master of Counselling - Monash University

  • Graduate Diploma in Education (Primary) - RMIT University

  • Graduate Diploma in Arts (Applied Linguistics) - Monash University

  • Bachelor of Arts - Monash University

Prior to establishing my counselling practice I was CEO of a youth charity for almost 6 years. This provided me with great insight into the challenges facing rural school students and young adults, and also gave me the opportunity to spend thousands of hours providing individual support, mentoring and group facilitation to beneficiaries.

Before that, I had a 20 year corporate career in the insurance, banking and IT sectors where I managed a broad range of business functions, including employee engagement, corporate social responsibility and crisis communications across the Asia-Pacific region.

As a young person I worked as a cleaner, demolition labourer and actor.

I grew up on the Bellarine Peninsula and in Geelong. After finishing secondary school I moved to Melbourne to attend university, and spent almost 20 years living there (punctuated by a lot of business travel to Singapore, Japan, India, the USA and various other countries). For the past decade I've lived in a rural town in central Victoria with my wife and our two teenage sons.

I am actively involved with community sporting clubs. I love playing and listening to music, reading, movies, travel, tinkering in my shed and laughing with my family and friends.

Qualifications

I'm a counsellor, educator, communicator, husband, father, and active volunteer. I've spent decades gathering life experience and learning as much as I can about people's feelings, thoughts and behaviour - and I learn more about those things every day.

Throughout my life people have told me that they feel comfortable talking with me about their challenges, problems, opportunities, emotions, dreams and relationships. I genuinely care about my clients and my goal is to help them find their own solutions while feeling better about themselves and their lives.
